Our Ingredients

We are committed to using only premium-quality ingredients in every bar we create.

Our signature soap recipe features a nourishing blend of extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil, avocado oil, and shea butter. For certain formulations, we also incorporate ingredients such as cocoa butter, sunflower oil, and rice bran oil to suit specific skin needs and enhance the performance of each bar.

All of our colourants are naturally derived — from turmeric and annatto to a curated selection of mineral-rich clays — each chosen not only for its beautiful hue but also for its unique skin-loving properties. Our soaps are topped with dried botanicals, oats, herbs, or salts, and we occasionally include seeds within the blend to provide gentle exfoliation and added benefits. In some recipes, we replace water with aloe vera juice, carefully selected teas, coffee, or milks to further enrich the soap.

We scent our soaps exclusively with pure, natural essential oils. Every blend is carefully formulated and used in accordance with IFRA safety guidelines to ensure a product that is both luxurious and safe.

Every ingredient we use serves a clear purpose and offers genuine skin benefits — nothing is ever added simply for appearance.

Below are the ingredients in our signature recipe and the benefits of using each:

Olive Oil - an oil produced by pressing olives has been used for centuries with good reason. Rich in vitamin A and E, olive oil helps to ensure a moisturising, skin softening bar of soap. It contributes antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties like many of the ingredients used in our soaps promoting great skin and a youthful glow. Olive oil is the highest percentage of oil contained in our soaps.

Coconut Oil - found in many tropical, warm regions, is considered a staple in many homes. When formulating a soap recipe, it’s a vital component that contributes hardness, lather and longevity. As well as this, the cleansing properties of coconut oil are unmatched. It cleans so well that if you use too much it strips your skin and makes it dry. We've tested and adapted our recipe numerous times to ensure we've included the perfect amount.

Avocado Oil - derived from the avocado fruit, is a great source of healthy oil. It’s known to boost collagen production which enables your skin to strengthen, heal and rejuvenate itself. It brings a very different feel to soap and contributes a wonderful creaminess to the bar.

Castor Oil - commonly unnoticed and less popular than some of the other oils in our soap but an ingredient that shouldn't be overlooked. Castor oil brings amazing benefits to any bar of soap reducing acne, pigmentation and is also able to prevent stretch marks. The added boost of bubbles is bonus!

Shea Butter - grown naturally in more dry climates. We've included shea butter to further enhance many of the properties already in our bars since it helps in so many areas (too many to list!), a little like the icing on the cake or the cherry on the top!

Kaolin Clay - used in nearly all of our soaps, a subtle ingredient we use that ensures the soap glides on your skin. Naturally derived, Kaolin Clay helps to remove oil and grease without drying your skin. It also helps to remove toxins, bacteria and dirt. We use Kaolin Clay in our scented soap to anchor the essential oils ensuring a longer lasting, natural fragrance, but the basic benefits are amazing!

What is 'saponified' oil?

Our bars are made with 100% natural ingredients, and we’re committed to keeping them as pure and gentle as possible. That means no harmful chemicals, no preservatives, and absolutely no synthetic fragrances, mica powders, glitters, parabens, or palm oil. We proudly use fair trade ingredients whenever possible to ensure our products are kind to both your skin and the planet.

But in order to transform nourishing oils into a solid, long-lasting bar of soap, a natural chemical reaction called saponification must occur. This process requires sodium hydroxide. While it plays an essential role in soap making, none remains in the final cured bar—it’s completely transformed during the process.

Cold process soap making is something we’re truly passionate about. It’s a fascinating blend of science and craft, and sodium hydroxide is a vital part of what makes real soap, well… real soap.
