Our Ingredients
We use the BEST quality ingredients, and all of our soaps have been tested on all skin types, including skin with severe eczema.
Our signature recipe, the base recipe of every soap, includes extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil, avocado oil and shea butter.

All of our colourants are natural ranging from turmeric and annatto to a handful of clays - all of which have unique and beneficial health properties of their own. We top our soaps with dried botanicals, oats, herbs or salts and occasionally add seeds to our mixtures for extra benefits and exfoliation. We also replace water in some soaps with aloe vera, a range of teas, coffees and milks.
We only use natural, pure essential oil to scent our soaps. The essential oils are added in accordance with IFRA safety guidelines.
All of our ingredients have a specific purpose and health benefit. No ingredient is added merely for 'show.'
Below are the ingredients in our signature recipe and the benefits of using each:
Olive Oil -Â an oil produced by pressing olives has been used for centuries with good reason. Rich in vitamin A and E, olive oil helps to ensure a moisturising, skin softening bar of soap. It contributes antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties like many of the ingredients used in our soaps promoting great skin and a youthful glow. Olive oil is the highest percentage of oil contained in our soaps.
Coconut Oil - found in many tropical, warm regions, is considered a staple in many homes. When formulating a soap recipe, it’s a vital component that contributes hardness, lather and longevity. As well as this, the cleansing properties of coconut oil are unmatched. It cleans so well that if you use too much it strips your skin and makes it dry. We've tested and adapted our recipe numerous times to ensure we've included the perfect amount.
Avocado Oil - derived from the avocado fruit, is a great source of healthy oil. It’s known to boost collagen production which enables your skin to strengthen, heal and rejuvenate itself. It brings a very different feel to soap and contributes a wonderful creaminess to the bar.
Castor Oil -Â commonly unnoticed and less popular than some of the other oils in our soap but an ingredient that shouldn't be overlooked. Castor oil brings amazing benefits to any bar of soap reducing acne, pigmentation and is also able to prevent stretch marks. The added boost of bubbles is bonus!
Shea Butter -Â grown naturally in more dry climates, the only butter used in our soap. We've included shea butter to further enhance many of the properties already in our bars since it helps in so many areas (too many to list!). A little like the icing on the cake or the cherry on the top, no soap would be complete without shea butter.Â
Kaolin Clay - used in nearly all of our soaps, a subtle ingredient we use that ensures the soap glides on your skin. Naturally derived, Kaolin Clay helps to remove oil and grease without drying your skin. It also helps to remove toxins, bacteria and dirt. We use Kaolin Clay in our scented soap to anchor the essential oils ensuring a longer lasting, natural fragrance, but the basic benefits are amazing!

What is 'saponified' oil?
All our bars are 100% natural. We don't use any harmful chemicals or preservatives. We don't use synthetic fragrances, mica powders, glitters or parabens. We don’t use palm oil and we always use fair trade ingredients. However, in order for our oils to turn into a solid bar of soap, a chemical reaction needs to take place. All soap bars require sodium hydroxide for this reaction to occur. Of course, the final product doesn't contain any but it’s still something we thought to let you know. To be honest, I‘m totally fascinated by cold process soap making and it just wouldn’t be the same without sodium hydroxide.Â
I recall the first time I made cold process soap - the entire process is next level and I just love it!
- I love the ingredients selection, carefully assessing the properties and profiles of each.
- I love the care and precision required when measuring ingredients.
- I love the anticipation due to constantly waiting for optimal temperatures.
- I love the patience and dedication it requires.
- I love the rapid, unpredictable changes in calculations due to the nature of natural ingredients and essential oils.Â
- I love discovering new techniques and new methods.
- I love witnessing the entire process and the moment soap ‘goes to trace.’
- I love being able to create natural products, good for the skin.
- I love the ability to express creativity and being able to constantly create something new.
- I love that although the process is generally the same…each bar is individually unique! No matter what you do, no two bars are ever the same.
The best part of soap making…I get to enjoy all the benefits knowing exactly what’s gone into the product created! What an honour to be able to share with others…
